A Guest Lecture on Quality Management was conducted on 15/12/2015 in Viswesvaraya Hall from 2.00-5.00pm for 132 students of Automobile Engineering Department. Mr.Jayachandran of ZF Windpower emphasized on the importance of Quality and Assurance in an Industry. He gave various inputs on how to start a career in an industry.

Students of Automobile Engineering were introduced to the basics of CAD Modelling by members of CADD Centre on 11/12/2015. An Engineer can change the world if proper guidance and monetary support is provided at the right time. To enable the students to turn into proper entrepreneur the AEA of KAHE conducted a Entrepreneur Development Program for the students of Automobile Engineering on 04/12/2015. Mr.Thirumalai Raja,Executive Director,Wibitech,Coimbatore motivated the students to develop their entrepreneurial skills and gave tips on how to develop a startup. The program was held in Visveswaraya hall and the total student strength was 150.

                                          Automobile Engineering Association 2015 Inauguration          The Department of Automobile Engineering has proudly inaugurated the Department Association to function for the Academic Year 2015-2016 on 28/09/2015. The inauguration was held in the presence of Mr.Chinmayi Krishgar, Manager, Ashok Leyland Technical Centre(R&D), Chennai. He introduced the students to the concepts of advancements in Automotive Systems and asked the students to plan well for their career. Logistics play an important role in the transport sector. So the Department of Automobile Engineering conducted a seminar on the importance of Logistics in association with Good Ocean Maritime, Institute for Logistics,UAE. The seminar was conducted on 21/08/2015 from 2.00pm to 4.00 pm . The visiting executives were from the branch of GML, Coimbatore. They stressed upon the impact of shipping and logistics industry in the automotive sector. They asked the students to come forward with their doubts and if necessary can approach their office which is situated in Peelamedu,Coimbatore. On 15/7/2015 Department of Automobile Engineering, keeping in mind the welfare of the student community conducted a guest lecture on Career Guidance Program on M.S Abroad. The session was conducted by  Mr.Keerthivasan Rajamani, JRF/PSG College of Technology. He emphasized on the steps to be taken to get admission in courses in well renowned universities abroad. He also gave a short insight about the lifestyle changes when students study abroad. Mr.Murugesh Halan from TuV Rheinland was the special invitee for the seminar on welding technologies. 132 students attended the seminar on 04/09/2015 from 09.30 a.m to 11.00 am. He introduced the students to the various new concepts of welding.He also said to the students about the course conducted by them which offers a 30 days basic in automotive technology course which covers all the basic topics of automotive  servicing. Mr. Sivakumar,ASP/Dept of Automobile Engg,Kumaraguru College of Technology graced the session titled Guest Lecture on Vehicle Dynamics and Career Development on 21/08/2015 from 09.30 to 1.00 p.m. He explained the basic concepts involved in Vehicle and Aerodynamics. He then moved on to provide guidance to students about their career development and setting of goals and objectives. He gave basic tips in updating and preparing their resume.

Its not easy to captivate 130 students through 3 hours while talking about Quality Control. But Mr.N.Gowtham Raj , Sr.Engineer, L& T-Valves Divison, did without breaking a sweat on 08 th July 2015.  He took upon the session from Mr. G. Jayabalaji who organized the session on behalf of the Dept.of Automobile Engineering. He explained about the various concepts of TQM and  the procedures followed in Industries in the aspect of Quality Control. He went on to explain about the methodologies stating real life examples to which the students were curious enough to sit down for the entire session.  At the end of the session he gave useful tips about how to face interviews and suggested students to opt for higher studies abroad. The students wished him good luck for his future endeavors and the session came to an end.

Museums carry a rich heritage of the foregone times which transport us to the past and make us feel so small in the course through the sands of time. Our Department organized a local Industrial Visit to the GD Naidu Car Museum for all the students of the department from 30/06/2015 to 02/07/2015 with each class going on each day accompanied by the staff members of the department. The students were very enthusiastic and looked forward to the visit. The students started the visit by seeing a video lecture about the cars that changed the face of automobiles. The students went along the museum and saw cars ranging from different eras like Ford Model T and cars from Austin, Rolls Royce and Mazda.Miniature engines models were also on display.  The next one hour was spent looking at the models and questions were politely answered by the staff of the museum.
